<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a non-magnetic steel achieving high intensity, high strength and low magnetic permeability, excellent in bendability at a normal temperature, further excellent in bendability at a low temperature of -20°C, and excellent in bendability at a low temperature even when a decarburization layer exists; and a method of producing the non-magnetic steel.SOLUTION: There is provided the non-magnetic steel excellent in low temperature bendability and containing C:0.8 to 1.2%, Si:0.1 to 0.6%, Mn:over 13% and 20% or less, Al:0.001% or more and less than 0.02%, P:0.040% or less (excluding 0%), S:0.045% or less (excluding 0%) and N:0.025 to 0.05% and the balance iron with inevitable impurities. In the non-magnetic steel, 99.0 area% or more of a micro structure thereof is an austenite structure, an austenite grain size number is 8.0 to 10.5 and an average N amount is 0.05% or more in a decarburization layer which is a region where the C amount is reduced in such a manner that a difference between the C amount in the region and that in the base material becomes 0.05% or more.</p> |
