Disclosed are a video file edit/upload server and a method for the same. The server includes: a video file receiving unit which receives a video file from a user terminal; a video clipping unit which clips a video file received by the video file receiving unit and generates a plurality of sub video files; a metadata generation unit which inputs and generates metadata of the generated sub video files in a lump; an advertising data generation unit which designates the play time/size/time of a banner advertisement for the generated video files and generates advertising data; and a video file upload unit which uploads the generated sub video files, metadata, and advertising data in a lump through an FTP communication method to a video file providing server. According to the video file edit/upload server and the method, since processes such as clipping, transcoding, metadata generation of video files are executed on the server, upload of a large amount and number of video files can be done very easily within a short period of time. |
