<p>A connector for a flat cable is provided with: a housing (2) on which terminals (3) are mounted, the terminals (3) allowing the conductors of the flat cable (20) to be contact therewith in an electrically conducive manner; a lock member (4) which positions and holds the front end of the flat cable (20); and hold-down members (5) which are affixed to both ends of the housing (2) in the direction of arrangement of the terminals (3) and which have spring sections (5c) for pressing the lock member (4) to the housing (2) side. Wall surfaces (6a) on both sides of the insertion section (6) of the housing (2) are formed so that the gap between the wall surfaces (6a) narrows toward the inside. The lock member (4) has engagement sections (8) which are inserted into engagement holes (23) formed in the flat cable (20). The engagement surfaces of the engagement sections (8) come into contact with the front end-side edges (23a) of the engagement holes (23). The engagement surfaces are formed sloping from the front ends of the engagement surfaces to the base ends thereof toward the inside of the insertion section (6).</p> |
