摘要 An actuator component 16 for use with at least one other actuator component 14, 18, 20 to form an assembled actuator 12, the actuator 12 for operation with a pressurized fluid to actuate a device, the actuator 12 having a proximal end and a distal end, and the actuator 12 including a connector 28 for attaching the actuator 12 so as to remain in a selected position with respect to the device during operation, the actuator component 16 including: a body 188 having a peripheral side wall 17 and a distal end wall 42, the side wall 17 and distal end wall 42 forming a well 180 in the body 188, the distal end wall 42 including a shaft opening 106 therethrough; a piston shaft component 50 movable with respect to the body 188 between a proximal-most position and a distal-most position, wherein the piston shaft component 50 is configured for sealing engagement with, and movement through the shaft opening 106; a piston plate 58 fixed to the piston shaft component 50 and configured to fit within the side wall 17, wherein, when the actuator component 16 forms part of an assembled actuator 12, the side wall 17 cooperates with a peripheral distal extent 114 of an adjacent part 18 of the assembled actuator 12, the adjacent part 18 being proximal to the actuator component 16 in the assembled actuator 12, such that the adjacent part 18 and the well 180 comprise a chamber 82, such that the chamber 82 includes: a fluid aperture 138 for allowing inflow and outflow of the pressurized fluid, respectively, into and out from the chamber 82, the fluid aperture 138 located at or near one end of the chamber 82; and, an air aperture 74 for allowing inflow and outflow of air, respectively, into and out from the chamber 82, the air aperture 74 located at or near an opposite end of the chamber 82 from the fluid aperture 138, and, such that, in operation, pressurized fluid is allowed in the fluid aperture 138 of the chamber and air is allowed out of the air aperture 74 of the chamber 82, so as to cause a force on the piston plate 58 in a direction from the fluid aperture 138 towards the air aperture 74, such that the piston shaft component 50 is caused to move either in a distal direction or in a proximal direction.
