Provided are a vehicular image processing apparatus and a method of processing an event using the same that may prevent unnecessary event records from being generated in a driving state while the vehicular image processing apparatus, for example, a vehicular black box, is performing ordinary recording, and may block event recording to be performed through an impact sensor in an uneven zone, for example, a speed bump zone and a construction zone, thereby increasing data usage and utilization.

1. A vehicular image processing apparatus mountable in a vehicle, the apparatus comprising:
a camera module to acquire an external image of the vehicle; an impact detector to detect an impact event with respect to the vehicle; a storage unit to store impact information comprising at least one of a preset impact pattern and location information associated with the impact event; and a controller to determine whether an event recorded image with respect to the impact event is to be generated from the external image, based on the impact information.
