PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a part of abrasive grain electro-deposited on a core wire to be exposed from a plating metal, with no degradation in strength of a wire saw.SOLUTION: A core wire 2 includes an abrasive grain electro-deposition layer 3 being formed by electro-deposition of abrasive grain 31 having an average particle size of 8-35 μm. The abrasive grain electro-deposition layer 3 includes a cutting blade 31a which is formed of a part of the abrasive grain 31 exposed in a surface process in which a spherical shot of ceramic (containing glass) of hardness being HV500-1000, specific gravity being 2.0-3.0, and average particle size being 10-62 μm is jetted for collision with a nickel plating layer film-formed by electro-deposition on the core wire 2 in a state in which the abrasive grain 31 are dispersed, at a jetting pressure of 0.15-0.30 MPa, and a nickel layer 32 having a thickness of 4-10 μm for fixing a base part of the abrasive grain 31 having been solidified by collision of the spherical shot on the core wire 2. |
