The invention relates to a method for obtaining an air product (GOX-IC) in an air separating system (100) in which a liquid fraction (41) is obtained from feed air (8) and used to provide the air product (GOX-IC) and in which the liquid fraction (41) is temporarily stored in a tank arrangement (70). A tank arrangement (70) with at least two tanks (72) is used, and the liquid fraction (41) is fed to at least one of the tanks (72) and/or is removed from at least one of the tanks (72) in order to provide the air product (GOX-IC). In the process, the liquid fraction is not fed to and removed from any one of the tanks (72) at the same time, and the composition of the liquid fraction (41) in a tank (72) is ascertained prior to each removal of the liquid fraction (41) from the tank (72).
