Provided is a method for measuring a human or animal emotion. The method for measuring an emotion of a test subject is characterized by comprising measuring the amount of at least one marker in a biological sample obtained from the test subject, said marker being selected from among (1) inorganic phosphoric acid or inorganic phosphorus, (2)γ-aminobutyric acid, (3) 5-oxoproline, (4) acetylcholine, (5) carbachol, (6)α-lipoamide and/or 5-methoxyindoleacetate, (7) 3-ureidopropionate and (8) trans-aconitate.
