PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gate signal line drive circuit in which leak currents are suppressed, and power consumption is reduced and a display device using the gate signal line drive circuit.SOLUTION: A gate signal line drive circuit for applying a high voltage in a signal high period, and for applying a low voltage in a signal low period includes: a high voltage application switching element to be in an on-state in accordance with the high period for applying the voltage of a first basic clock signal to a gate signal line; a high voltage application OFF control circuit for applying a first low voltage to the switch of the high voltage application switching element in accordance with the signal low period; and a low voltage application switching circuit for applying a second low voltage as a voltage higher than the first low voltage to the gate signal line in accordance with the signal low period.
