ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT-SHIELDING COSMETICS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide ultraviolet light-shielding cosmetics excellent in transparency at the time of application without containing a metal oxide having an average particle diameter of 100 nm or less, but with sufficient ultraviolet light-shielding ability.SOLUTION: Ultraviolet light-shielding cosmetics contain: spherical titanium oxide with a mean particle diameter of over 0.5μm and 5.0μm or less which results from reacting flabellate rutile type titanium dioxide particles still spherically consisting of rodlike particles of particulate titanium oxide as a core; and an ultraviolet absorbent. An excellent ultraviolet light-shielding function can be obtained by combining the ultraviolet absorbent with spherical titanium oxide.
