<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lift type continuous casting apparatus capable of obtaining a casting having a high degree of freedom of shape.SOLUTION: There is provided a lift type continuous casting apparatus (1) including: a holding furnace (2) which holds molten metal (M1); a starter (ST) held to contact and leave the molten metal surface (MS) of the molten metal (M1); lifting means of driving and lifting the starter (ST) to lift part of the molten metal (M1) in a lifting direction together with the starter (ST); a shape imparting member (3) having external force imparting surfaces (32, 33, and 34) for applying external force at an unsolidified part of the part of the lifted molten metal (M1), and moving means (4) of moving the shape imparting member (3) in the lifting direction. The shape imparting member (3) has a stepped shape or tapered shape which is open in the lifting direction.</p> |
