The controlling device 3 calculates a controlling surface pressure P1 obtained by adding a correcting surface pressure P3 corresponding to an energization time T to the surface pressure P2 of the surface of the lithium secondary battery 2 during charging, the surface pressure P2 being measured by the surface pressure sensor 4, and, when the controlling surface pressure P1 exceeds a predetermined threshold D, limits the charging of the lithium secondary battery 2.
