PURPOSE: A digital image processing apparatus, a method for controlling the same, and a recording medium storing a program for implementing the method are provided to separate images photographed in consecutive photographing mode and store the separated images in external memories, thereby improving consecutive photographing speed. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of external memories stores image data of a photographed image. A digital signal processor(129) partitions the image data. The partitioned image data are saved in the external memories. A data partitioning unit(129-1) of the digital signal processor partitions the image data to generate a plurality of partition data.
