PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water repellent and antifouling coating with a smooth surface which has high water repellency and durability against rubbing.SOLUTION: Material for a water repellent and antifouling coating comprises a condensation product obtained by condensation of hydrolyzable silane compounds. The hydrolyzable silane compounds comprises (a) a hydrolyzable silane compound having a perfluoropolyether group, (b) a hydrolyzable silane compound having an epoxy group, and (c) a hydrolyzable silane compound having a fluorine-containing group other than a perfluoropolyether group.
