The invention relates to a process for preparing functionalized magnetic systems of the magnetite/thio acids/Ag or Au type, meant to be employed in cancer diagnosis and guided treatment. According to the invention, the process comprises the precipitation of magnetite nanoparticles in a thio acid solution in NaOH medium, after which glucose and silver nitrate are added to the magnetite suspension, to result in a triple layered structure of the core-shell type.
