A display panel driver includes a compensation value generation unit, a compensation lookup table, and a compensation unit. The compensation value generation unit generates offsets and compensation tones based on the brightness of the pixels of a display panel. The compensation lookup table stores the offsets and compensation tones. The compensation unit compensates the input tone of a pixel by referring to the compensation lookup table and generates data signals. By doing so, it is possible to efficiently use the storage space of the compensation lookup table and increase compensation resolution. Therefore, spots on the display panel can be effectively compensated.
