PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air valve which is usable in an inclined pipeline.SOLUTION: An air valve is installed in a pipeline 10 in which a liquid flows and exhausts a gas entering into the pipeline 10 to the exterior. The air valve includes: a valve box which is composed of a fixed valve box 2 fixed to the pipeline 10 and a movable valve box 3 which is provided so as to rotate relative to the fixed valve box 2, the valve box connected with the pipeline 10; an air valve chamber 4 which is provided in the movable valve box 3 and communicates with the pipeline 10; air holes 31, 32 which are provided at an upper part of the movable valve box 3 and allow the air valve chamber 4 to communicate with the exterior; valve seats 51, 52 which are provided at end part peripheries of the air valve chamber 4 side of the air holes 31, 32; and valve bodies 41, 42 which are housed in the air valve chamber 4 and are placed in contact with the valve seats 51, 52 by a buoyant force of the liquid to close the air holes 31, 32. The movable valve box 3 is rotated relative to the fixed valve box 2 thereby adjusting the valve seats 51, 52 so that the valve seats 51, 52 are horizontally placed. |
