PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a skin detergent composition exhibiting excellent foam quality, giving good feeling when rising and good humectant feeling after drying, having moderate viscosity and also good low temperature stability.SOLUTION: A skin detergent composition contains 3 to 30 mass% of a component (A), 0.05 to 5 mass% of a component (B), 0.1 to 5 mass% of a component (C) and 0.1 to 20 mass% of a component (D) relative to the total amount of the composition, where the mass ratio of the components (D)/(A) is 0.05 to 0.8 and the mass ratio of the components (D)/(C) is 0.2 to 6. (A) a higher fatty acid salt, (B) a cationic polymer, (C) acyl alkanolamide, and (D) polyoxyethylene sorbitol oleate represented by the following general formula (1): Z[O-(EO)-R]. (In the formula, Z is a hydrocarbon residue where a hydroxyl group is removed from sorbitol, EO is an oxyethylene group, R is an oleic acid residue or a hydrogen atom, and the esterification rate is 50 to 100%. m is an average addition molar number of the oxyethylene group and is from 6 to 15.)
