WATER FILTER ASSEMBLY

A water filter assembly is provided. The water assembly includes a cylindrical filter media, a pair of caps mounted at opposite ends of the cylindrical filter media, and a support column positioned within the cylindrical filter media. Inner and outer diameters of the cylindrical filter media can be selected in order to improve filtering of the cylindrical filter media. Also, at least one cap of the pair of caps can define an outlet having a diameter less than the inner diameter of the cylindrical filter media.

1. A water filter assembly that defines an axial direction, a radial direction, and a circumferential direction, the water filter assembly comprising:
a cylindrical filter media having a plurality of pleats spaced apart from one another along the circumferential direction, the cylindrical filter media defining an inner diameter and an outer diameter along the radial direction, the inner diameter of the cylindrical filter media being greater than one and one-quarter inches and less than about three and three-quarters inches, the outer diameter of the cylindrical filter media being greater than the inner diameter of the cylindrical filter media, the cylindrical filter media also defining a filtering volume within the cylindrical filter media; a pair of caps mounted to the cylindrical filter media, the caps positioned at opposite axial ends of the cylindrical filter media; and a support column positioned within the filtering volume of the cylindrical filter media.
