Provided is a continuously variable transmission with which it is possible to prevent the transmission of driving force from a travel drive source to the drive wheels, contrary to the driver's intention, when the vehicle is decelerating. A control device (40) of this continuously variable transmission (1) controls a travel drive source (50) such that the output rotational speed (Ne) of the travel drive source (50) becomes a second target rotational speed (Ne2) when the requested driving force for the vehicle is 0, and controls the transmission gear ratio (i) of the continuously variable transmission (1) so as to move from a first state, wherein the continuously variable transmission (1) is transmitting rotational driving force from an input shaft (2) to an output shaft (3), to a second state, wherein transmission of the rotational driving force is prevented, when the output rotational speed (Ne) of the travel drive source (50) is a first target rotational speed (Ne1), and controls the transmission gear ratio (i) of the continuously variable transmission when the vehicle velocity (V) is less than a boundary velocity (Vgn), so as to achieve a state maintenance transmission gear ratio (ign) with which the first state can be maintained even when the vehicle is decelerating. |
