Embodiments of the present invention provide a carrier indication method, a base station, and a radio network controller, which relates to the field of communications and enables the radio network controller in a general asymmetric mobile communications system to obtain an uplink subcarrier accessed by a user equipment. The method comprises: a base station notifying a radio network controller of uplink subcarrier information by means of a correspondence between an uplink subcarrier field or a media access control flow in a data frame and an uplink subcarrier; or determining an uplink subcarrier accessed by a user equipment by means of a transmission bearer and a transmission channel of the uplink subcarrier; or the base station establishing a response message by means of a radio link so as to notify the radio network controller of the uplink subcarrier accessed by the user equipment. The embodiments of the present invention are used to enable a radio network controller to obtain an uplink subcarrier accessed by a user equipment.
