PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk drive capable of efficiently obtaining a maximum recording speed with respect to a multilayer optical disk.SOLUTION: In the disk drive for performing recording on an optical disk having a plurality of recording layers, OPC processing is executed to one of the plurality of recording layers for each different recording speed, to obtain the value of optimum recording power for each recording speed (S101), then, a recording power ratio between the recording speeds is calculated based on the value of the optimum recording power for each obtained recording speed (S103), then, the OPC processing is executed to the plurality of recording layers at a predetermined recording speed, to obtain the value of the optimum recording power for each recording layer, and then, the maximum recording speed for each recording layer is obtained based on the recording power ratio between the recording speeds, the value of the optimum recording power for each recording layer, and the maximum output value of a light source (S105). |
