<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bag device for protecting a pedestrian.SOLUTION: An air bag device includes: a collision detection sensor provided on a vehicle; a first air bag stored in a storing portion provided on an inside surface of a hood of the vehicle; a second air bag stored in a front bumper of the vehicle; and driving means provided in the vehicle, and driving the first and second air bags by receiving a signal from the collision detection sensor. The first air bag is developed upward from an opening portion formed on a surface of the hood in an area provided with the storing portion, and configured so as to receive at least a head portion of a pedestrian. The second air bag is developed upward from an opening formed between the front bumper and a front body of the vehicle, and configured so as to form an air mat portion and a bulging portion along an outer periphery of the air mat portion to include the pedestrian in the air mat portion inside the bulging portion.</p> |
