Pipeline containment modules to contain materials flowing through the pipeline should the pipeline leak or burst. This proactive system mitigates/minimizes environmental catastrophes by capturing the fluid or gas that may leak from a damaged or ruptured pipeline. These containment modules, when sealed and bolted together will completely enclose and support the pipeline. Other benefits of the pipeline enclosure is the constant monitoring of the pipeline using commercial off the shelf sensors for vibration, strain, temperature, atmosphere, the pipeline is not in a corrosive environment and video cameras may also be installed. There are enclosure sump modules used for recovering any of the material that has accumulated within the enclosure. The enclosure also provides a means to carry out an external inspection of the pipeline as well as an internal inspection of the enclosure. |
