PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte battery and a battery pack which are superior in high-temperature life performance.SOLUTION: A nonaqueous electrolyte battery comprises a positive electrode; a negative electrode; and a nonaqueous electrolyte. The positive electrode includes: particles of an active material expressed by any of the formulas, LiM1O(Formula #1), LiM2O(Formula #2), and LiM3PO(Formula #3), and having an average particle diameter of 0.1 μm to 10 μm; and a coating which is present on each active material particle and includes at least one element selected from a group consisting of Mg, Ti, Zr, Ba, B and C. The negative electrode includes a metal compound which occludes lithium ions at 0.4 V (vs. Li/Li) or higher. The nonaqueous electrolyte includes a mixed solvent including: a first nonaqueous solvent consisting of at least one of propylene carbonate and ethylene carbonate; and a second nonaqueous solvent consisting of at least one of a nonaqueous solvent having a nitrile group and a molecular weight of 40 to 100 and γ-butyrolactone, provided that the second nonaqueous solvent accounts for 10-70 vol.%. |
