<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a remote trader to view in real time bid orders, offer orders, and trades for an item, and optionally one or more sources of contextual data.SOLUTION: Individual traders place orders on remote client terminals, and a transaction server receives information on the orders, matches a bid order for an item to an offer order for an item, and communicates outstanding bid order and offer order information and additional information (such as trades and contextual data) to the client terminals. Each client terminal displays all of the outstanding bid orders and offer orders for an item, and provides trends in orders for an item as a priority view. An alternate view positions order icons at a location which reflects the value and quantity of the order. Additionally, contextual data for the item, traders connected to the pit, and activity levels of the traders are displayed.</p> |
