[Class 94 (ii)] In machinery for making paper &c. bags &c. a roller &c. 12, which may be rubber-covered, travelling at a greater linear speed than the tube 4 of paper &c., is fitted, to impart to the tube an impulse toward the holding rollers 9, 10 when the same is deflected upwardly by the beater 5 immediately before severance. A guide plate 11, which may be replaced or supplemented by another roller, guides the severed end of the tube, fed by the feed rollers 1, 2 over the former plate 3, to the rollers 9, 10.
