发明名称 Improvements in knitting machinery
摘要
471,147. Knitting-machines. MORTON, SIR J., HANNAY, R. S. E., and CARTER, W. L. C. Feb. 21, 1936, Nos. 4609/37 (divided out of 472,316) and 481/37. [Class 74 (ii)] The sinker-supporting structure of a warp machine comprises a rock-shaft 18 and a sinker bar 16, of which the rock-shaft is the most rigid member, and the sinker bar is held rigid by connecting arms 17 distributed throughout the length of the bar. The bar 16 is disposed close to the shaft 18 so that its radius of gyration is short, and the radius of the arc in which the sinkers 14 act may be less than five inches. The rock-shaft may be supported by bearings distributed over its length. The holders 15 for the sinkers may be made of a light-weight organic plastic material. In the form shown in Fig. 5, in which the sinker-supporting structure is arranged at the backs of the knitting needles 41, the sinker bar 44 is secured by short arms 45 to the heavy rock-shaft 46. The rock-shaft 46 is supported by levers 47 which constitute stationary but adjustable bearings distributed over its length. The sinkers may be capable of feeding wefts to the fabric being knitted.
