This steel sheet has given chemical components in which the contents in mass% of the elements satisfy both the relationship 0.3000≤{Ca/40.88+(REM/140)/2}/(S/32.07) and the relationship Ca≤0.0058-0.0050×C, the population density of Ti-containing carbonitride grains which are present separately and have a major-axis length of 5 μm or greater being 5 grains/mm2 or less.
