<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airbag device for a front passenger seat of an automobile, which realizes weight reduction and inexpensive manufacturing cost by eliminating need for a reinforcing cloth on an airbag body. <P>SOLUTION: The device is equipped with: a bag body 1 which is accommodated in an instrument panel 6 in a state of being compressed when not used and guided to a windshield panel WS to be inflated and deployed toward a cabin RM side when an emergency occurs; and a gas generator 7 which supplies inflation gas to the inside of the bag body 1. The bag body 1 comprises: center panels 2, 3 including a region facing an occupant 8 when inflated and annularly extending in an upper and lower direction and in a front and rear direction; and side panels 5b for respectively covering right and left side faces of the center panels 2, 3. The center panels 2, 3 are formed by joining one sides 2a, 3a of ends of substantially belt-shaped panels and the other sides 2b, 3b through sewing 4 or the like.
