<p>A continuous belay system comprising a track (12, Fig 1) for fixedly locating over where (16, Fig 1) a user is to move. The track, which is formed in lengths, has upper and lower sides, and has a continuous slit therein from the upper side to the lower side. The track comprises a junction at which the slits of at least three lengths of track extend in respective directions. The system also includes a slider moveable lengthwise along the slit. The slider comprises a portion 24 for extending through the slit, a slider member 26 attached to said portion, for moving against the upper side of the track and shaped so as not to pass through the slit, and means 34 attached to said portion, for attaching to a line, the line being attachable to the user. The slider, when attached to the user, follows the user in one of the at least three directions when the user moves below the track in a corresponding direction. Various slider arrangements are disclosed.</p> |
