<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect short-circuiting of a coupling capacitor.SOLUTION: An electric leakage detector 100 includes switches SW1 to SW3. When determining whether a coupling capacitor C1 is short-circuited or not, a short-circuiting determination unit 10 first stops the pulse output from a pulse generator 2 and turns on all the switches SW1 to SW3 and next turns off the switches SW2 and SW3 while maintaining the switch SW1 in a turned-on state and then causes the pulse generator 2 to generate pulses to charge coupling capacitors C1 and C3 by the pulses. In the step of this charging, the short-circuiting determination unit 10 determines whether the coupling capacitor C1 is short-circuited or not on the basis of a voltage at a connection point P between the coupling capacitor C1 and a resistance R1, which is detected by a voltage detection unit 7.</p> |
