<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel technique capable of determining a file format of a file containing scan data. <P>SOLUTION: A multifunctional machine 10 generates a file 200 or 210 containing 4 pages of scan data P1 to P4 generated by scanning documents D1 to D4. When determining the scan data P1 to be typical, the multifunctional machine 10 generates the file 200 containing the scan data P1 to P4 and having a first file format having a page concept.
