A table platen 5 comprises: a main body part 61 having upper and lower surfaces, wherein the main body 61 part includes a plurality of recesses 71, 73 open to the upper surface thereof; an upper body part (67, fig 14), in the form of a sheet, which is disposed to the upper surface (63) of the main body part 61 and closes the recesses 71, 73 at the upper surface of the main body part 61; wherein bonding agent within each of the recesses 71, 73 bonds the main body part 61 to the upper body part (67). A table support system including a raising and lowering system and a method of manufacturing a platen table are also disclosed. |
