The invention relates to a sheet 1 which is impermeable to bleach, tint or hair dye and which is dissolvable in water. The sheet 1 is adapted to enclose a strand of hair, with hair colourant or bleach applied thereto, which has been separated from the remainder of the hair on the head. The sheet 1 is preferably made from a water soluble paper based on cellulose, or a water soluble plastic such as polyvinyl acetate (PVA). Water soluble adhesive 4 may also be applied to the edges of the sheet 1 to adhere the sheet 1 to the hair and/or the scalp. Once the hair dye has been applied to the hair and left to take an effect, the hair is washed with water at a suitable temperature. The sheets 1 and any adhesive 4 applied thereto dissolve in the warm water. |
