<p>Fluid screws (10) or hydrodynamic screws, such as in particular, Archimedean screws, are used in various designs to convey fluids and also to produce electrical energy. Because of the continual increase in the size of fluid screws (10), tolerances and gap dimensions also become greater, thereby leading to an increased risk to aquatic animals. The invention addresses this problem by providing a seal in the gap (22) between the fluid screw (10) and the surrounding trough (16), the seal consisting preferably of a flexible or fluid material. This prevents aquatic animals from penetrating the gap (22) and becoming endangered.</p> |
