The driver tool 1 is for connector and/or fixation elements (2, Figure 1Fb) such as screws or bolts. The tool includes a driver shaft 1c and a driver element 1e protruding from the shaft. The driver element includes at least two pins 1o for inserting into a socket (2a, Figure 1Fb) having one or more inside walls. The driver element also includes one or more securing features to, individually or collectively, frictionally engage the socket walls using a spring force. Each securing feature includes a spring clip mechanism forming at least one flexing arm attached to each pin, and at least one slit in each pin. Each slit is for receiving a portion of the flexing arm. The axis of each slit is oriented at a tangent to an imaginary inner circle around the pins axes whereby the axis of each slit is substantially perpendicular to the direction of the length of the driver shaft. A rotational force acting on the driver element for driving the fixation element is generally perpendicular to the frictional spring force for securing the driver element to the fixation element. |
