The present invention relates to a composition for preventing or treating Methicillin-resistantStaphylococcusaureus (MRSA) infectious diseases, comprising an ethylacetate fraction of a Vitisamurensis root extract as an active ingredient. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a non-medicinal composition for preventing or improving MRSA infectious diseases, comprising an ethylacetate fraction of a Vitisamurensis root extract as an active ingredient and to a method for treating MRSA infectious diseases of animals other than humans, including the step of administrating the pharmaceutical composition into an MRSA infectious disease suspected case. The composition according to the present invention can be effectively used for preventing, treating or improving MRSA infectious diseases. The ethylacetate fraction of a Vitisamurensis root extract, which is the active ingredient of the present invention, is able to provide a safe medicine which is side effect free when compared to synthetic drugs.
