[Class 104 (iii)] The current conductors are arranged in pairs 1, 2 of opposite polarity, and the collector comprises two sliding contacts 1<1>, 2<1> mounted on a bow &c. A and separated by an insulator D, the width of each contact being less than the distance between adjacent conductors 1, 2, to prevent short circuiting during transverse movement of the collector. The bow may carry insulating horns C<1>, C<2> at the ends. In another form, the collector has four contacts, and in another form for three-phase current it has three, the conductors being arranged in groups of three. At a cross-over between two main tracks, a number of pairs of short conductors are arranged between the conductors on the main tracks. |
