A vehicle lamp 10 with a progressive direction indicator function comprises a direction indicator zone divided into a series of illuminable portions. The shape of the direction indicator zone comprises an enlarged head 68 and a least one tail 64, 66 that is contiguous with the head and extends inboard 26 from the head. To draw an observers eye in an outboard direction 28, at least an outboard end of the head is thicker than the tail. The illuminable portions are controllable in use to illuminate an increasing area of the direction indicator zone progressively from an inboard end of each tail to the outboard end of the head. There is also disclosed a vehicle lamp where in there is a pair of tails. Further disclosed is a lens 20 for a vehicle lamp with at least one tail. |
