A pole fixing 1 having a bracket 2 for attachment to a surface such as a wall, ceiling or recess. The bracket carries a mounting 4 means that defines a bore 18 for receiving a pole (48) for a curtain or the like and the fixing includes two screws. The mounting means also has at least two tapped apertures 20 & 24, each being arranged to receive one of the screws. The apertures are on opposite sides of the mounting means and are offset from one another in the longitudinal direction A of the bore so that the tapped aperture at the lower side 24 is nearer the entrance of the mounting means bore than the tapped aperture on the upper side 20. |
