<p>A gasket seal 1 for a mass spectrometer has one or more ports with protrusions 11, through which gas or fluid can flow. The port 11 sticks out so that it may reduce leakage when receiving a flow of fluid or gas. The gasket 1 may provide a vacuum seal of a gas-tight seal. The gasket 1 may provide a seal, under compression, between a first component of a mass spectrometer, such as an ion block 8 or vacuum chamber, and a second component such as a pumping block or a mass spectrometer housing. Additional apertures or holes may be provided to fix the gasket to the components. Additional components, such as ion sources or gas cones 12, may be included in the system sealed by gaskets 1 of this kind.</p> |
