<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting a hardened range and a method for inspecting the hardened range capable of nondestructively, easily, and highly precisely determining a boundary position between a hardened range and an unhardened range of a work using an eddy current measuring method. <P>SOLUTION: The method for detecting a hardened range of a work W includes; continuously scanning a hardened range of an object work W and an unhardened range 30 adjoined thereto with an eddy current sensor 10 that includes an excitation coil 11 for generating an eddy current on the surface of the work W, and a detecting coil 12 for detecting a detection signal related to the eddy current; and measuring the boundary position between the hardened range 10 and the unhardened range 20 on the surface of the object work W based on a signal change rate of the detection signal in the boundary area between the hardened range 20 and the unhardened range 30. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
