发明名称 Improved production of plastic masses from organic colloids
摘要 Plastic masses not containing cellulose or its derivatives are produced from albuminous hydrophile organic colloids such as gelatine or glue to which a long chain aliphatic amino-body, which term includes acid amides, with an unbranched carbon chain of at least six carbon atoms, or a salt thereof, is added as a softening agent. Hexylamine nitrate, hydrochloride or acetate is suitable. The effect is increased by incorporating in the amino-body radicles increasing solubility such as hydroxyl. Thus, poly-oxalkyl dodecylamine, produced by adding ethylene oxide to dodecylamine, or the reaction products of dodecyl alcohol and ethylene imine, and of stearic amide and ethylene oxide may be used. Where amines of low basicity are necessary as in photo-graphic gelatine emulsions, soluble amines containing an acid amide group are suitable. Amino-acids and their derivatives, rendered soluble by ethylene oxide residues, e.g. the product of treating dodecylamine with 3 molecular proportions of ethylene oxide in a sealed tube at 80 DEG C. and then reacting with 3 molecular proportions of sodium chloracetate in weakly alkaline solution may be used, or the product obtained from decylamino-formic-(acetic- or propionic-)decylamide and 1--3 times its weight of ethylene oxide. The amines are more effective if mixed with other amines; thus the mixture of amines C8H17NH2 to C14H29NH2 obtained from natural coconut oil alcohols is more suitable than pure dodecyl-or tetradecyl-amine. For producing transparent films, the colloid and softening agent must be completely miscible both in solution and when free from solvent. Specification 454,611, [Group V], is referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises the use of hydrophile organic colloids other than albumens, e.g. cellulose and its derivatives, polysaccharides such as starch or agar agar, and polymerizates such as polyvinyl alcohol. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.ALSO:Plastic masses not containing cellulose or its derivatives are produced from albuminous hydrophile organic colloids such as gelatine or glue to which a long chain aliphatic amino-body, which term includes acid amides, with an unbranched carbon chain of at least six carbon atoms, or a salt thereof, is added as a softening agent.
