The present technology relates to a reception apparatus, a reception method, a program, and an information processing system for offering application programs to be executed in interlocked relation to AV content. A trigger extraction portion extracts trigger information which includes time information for operating at a predetermined time a data broadcast application transmitted together with the AV content. A TPT analysis portion acquires a command for controlling the operation of the data broadcast application and the TPT in accordance with the valid period of the command. A control portion controls the operation of the data broadcast application in accordance with the command being valid such that when the time acquired from the time information including the extracted trigger information as indicative of the progress of the AV content falls within a valid period of the command. The present technology can be applied to, for example, a television receiver that receives digital television broadcast signals.
