[Classes 75 (ii) and 75 (iv)] In a street or like gas lamp in which a linear light source is disposed between upper and lower reflectors which direct the light up and down the street, additional reflectors R<2> are arranged with their inner edges abutting on, or adjacent to, the outer edges of the upper reflectors R, such additional reflectors being inclined downwards and outwards so as to prevent shadows being cast by the lower reflectors R<1> and/or the lamp frame. The reflectors may all be flat and /or of non-parabolic curvature, and the additional reflectors may be formed integrally with the upper reflectors, or they may be arranged with their inner edges slightly above and overlapping the outer edges of the upper reflectors. The additional reflectors extend outwardly beyond the lower reflectors, but do not screen the light source in a horizontal direction. The reflectors may be made of stainless steel, chromium plate, or mirror glass, and they may be smooth, ribbed or faceted. They are carried by frames F having hooked ends which engage over extensions B<3> on the burner fitting B<2> and bear against stops S also on the burner fitting.
