<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an acrylic resin having high fluidity, processability, impact resistance, and solvent resistance. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing an acrylic resin includes the following steps: producing a polymer (I) having a weight-average molecular weight of 5,000-50,000, in an amount of 5-45 mass% of the total amount of the acrylic resin, from a raw material mixture containing a methacrylic acid ester monomer; and further producing a polymer (II) having a weight-average molecular weight of 60,000-350,000, in an amount of 95-55 mass% of the total amount of the acrylic resin, by adding a raw material mixture containing a methacrylic acid ester monomer in the presence of the polymer (I), which method further includes a step wherein a temperature is raised to the temperature (t<SB>1</SB>) which is higher than the polymerization temperature (t<SB>0</SB>) of the polymer (I) and retained at the temperature for 5-180 minutes, after an exothermic peak temperature, due to heat generation of polymerization upon addition of the raw material mixture of the polymer (I), is observed and before the raw material mixture of the polymer (II) is added. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
