The present disclosure describes a pan formed from a base plate, a housing, a divider and an ejection plate. Together, the pan is shaped to form a pocket bun. The constituent parts of the pan nest together when baking, and disassemble when removing the bun from the pan. The pocket bun has an open-mouth design to allow ingredients to be retained in the bun while the sandwich is being consumed. The open-mouth design is formed having either a single cavity or a plurality of cavities, with each cavity adapted for carrying a filling. The pan is designed having one or more chambers, with each chamber adapted for baking a bun. Adjacent chambers optionally include openings therebetween such that adjacent buns will have a baked connection therebetween. |

1. A pan comprising:
a base plate defined by a top side, a bottom side and an outer edge, an aperture formed through said base plate, a male mold extending from said top side of said base plate, said male mold circumscribing said aperture; a housing defined by an upright wall and a base, said base overlying said base plate, said upright wall having an inner surface, a guide defined by a first rail and a second rail carried on said inner surface of said upright wall; an ejection plate, said ejection plate formed as a generally flat plate having a top side, a bottom side, and lateral sides circumscribing said ejection plate to form an outer edge, said ejection plate overlying said base of said housing, said outer edge of said ejection plate including a notch located near a midpoint offset lateral sides forming a cutout in said ejection plate, said notch mating with said guide to locate said ejection plate relative said housing, an aperture located interiorly of said ejection plate and formed therethrough, said male mold extending through said aperture; and a divider defined by an upright plate having a side edge; said divider overlying said ejection plate, said side edge of said divider locatable between said first rail and said second rail of said guide. |
