<p>Disclosed are a method for inducing a temporal candidate motion vector and an apparatus using the same. An image decoding method comprises the steps of: determining whether a neighbor pixel near a same position prediction unit belongs to the same largest coding unit (LCU) including the same position prediction unit; and selecting a final temporal candidate prediction unit for a current prediction unit based on a determined result on whether the neighbor pixel near the same position prediction unit belongs to the same largest coding unit including the same position prediction unit. Therefore, the temporal candidate motion vector which is similar to a motion vector of the current prediction unit, is set as a candidate prediction motion vector, and unnecessary line buffers are reduced.</p> |
