1. A data processing system, the data processing system comprising:
a signal modification circuit operable to:
receive a data input;generate an adjusted scalar value based at least in part on a bit error rate;multiply a component of the data input by the adjusted scalar to yield a product;subtract the product from the data input to yield a modified output; andselect one of the data input and the modified output as a processing input; and a processing circuit operable to apply a data processing algorithm to the processing input to yield a data output, wherein the bit error rate is generated by the processing circuit.
